Morgan Hill - Because of Lord Murugan?

Morgan Hill, CA is where I stay. But I am very curious about the name. Back in India, in my home state, we have a God named Lord Murugan. His primary place of residence is considered to be the Hilly regions of the state. We have atleast 6 major temples of Lord Murugan all on top of some Hill. So the moment I landed in Morgan Hill, I was curious to know history of the name. There is a wonderful hill in the city's west side (Nice view from my window). And I like the Lord Murugan. So naturally my conclusion is that I have come to the abode of Lord Murugan - Murugan Hill or Morgan Hill. Of course the official history of the city states that the name is behind the people Diana and Hiram Morgan Hill who built place. But to me, I still want to believe that it is a Lord Murugan Hill. You may think I am mad, but My Guru indeed does these things to make sure I am happy! Jai Gurudev!

Seva brings us Energy.

Although in the first week of my arrival to the Bay Area, I missed my seva, the following week was a very fruitful one. Particularly the Saturday, feb 2nd. We were a group of 5 (Mayur, Reena, Tamil girl, Tara and myself) who went to San Francisco for "postering". It was a reminder for me of the distribution of posters in Sydney in the year 2004 for Guruji's visit. We had a nice time on that day. Went to a Veg restaurant named "Gratitude Cafe", the ambience as good as its name. We ordered 5 different types of food, the names of which I don't remember at all. But a great food! Particularly after seva, everything tastes and looks better, we get a better picture of things. From SF went to Reena's house. Myself, Reena and Prabhat (Reena's husband) went to the Volunteers' meeting and satsang. The Satsang was an amazing one. Kishenji has come over from Canada for conducting the Yoga course. What a "Hollo and Empty" he was! We all were simply in tears hearing his knowledge. I felt as if Guruji himself was talking. After the satsang, we danced like anything. After all that we realized that going back to Morgan Hill was not a good option paricularly when it was raining. So slept in Prabhat's house thinking of getting ready for the next day's seva. But as usual, when AOL people meet, Guru stories started and went on and on. Slept late...and got up late too...I finished my Padmasadana alone hoping to attend the Long Kriya in the evening. Set off to reach Rajiv's house, but went into opposiote direction, ended up crossing the Ocean! Came back and paid the toll and reached his house. By that time, they had left for SF. Then I myself set off for SF. Once I reached there, I got puzzled by the one ways. On the top of it, I could not get parking. My phone was dead. Tried reaching him by public telephone. The machine consumed the coins without doing its duty. Confused, I reaclized that I had a few post cards left. Got an idea that I should give them away to the Pier 39 shops. Set off by foot at first, then realized that it is quite far, althoug in map it looks so near. Then took a Muni Street car. Reached pier 39 and I made sure that I distributed the cards to the shops. Then I had such a great satisfaction realizing that at last I made some use of the day. I took a bite of some chcolate. Then realized that it was already time for me to leave to reach Sunnyvale for Long Kriya. Then took a Muni again, went back to the parking lot. Started the car and somehow without a single mistake, reached 101 and rushed back. Reached the Sunnyvale ponderosa park. Waited for a while for the teached. Then finished the Long kriya...Nice expereince. Then went back to my room. As soon as I reached, I wanted to share this experience with someone. So called up Prabhat and told this and laughed about the way Icrossed the ocean and got lost in SF. I was really happy and energetic just because of the half hour seva at Pier 39. What an energy and satisfaction seva brings about! It is amazing. Salute to my Master! Jai Gurudev!
